A cheaper and more fun way to dye your eggs this Easter! Things you will need: 

• 2/3 cup water
• kool-aid packets 
• plastic spoons
• a cup Mix the color packet of your choice in the water. 

Carefully drop in your egg and let sit until desired darkness. The longer it sits, the darker your egg should be.

Lavender Lemon Bars Recipe



Ingredients:


For the crust:

1/2 pound unsalted butter, at room temperature
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 cups flour
1/8 teaspoon kosher saltFor the filling:

6 extra-large eggs at room temperature
3 cups granulated sugar
2 tablespoons grated lemon zest (4 to 6 lemons)
1/2 tsp. Lavender extract
1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
1 cup flour
Confectioners’ sugar, for dustingDirections:


Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.For the crust, cream the butter and sugar until light in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. Combine the flour and salt and, with the mixer on low, add to the butter until just mixed. Dump the dough onto a well-floured board and gather into a ball. Flatten the dough with floured hands and press it into a 9 by 13 by 2-inch baking sheet. Chill about 10 minutes in freezer/refrigerator.Bake the crust for 15 to 20 minutes, until very lightly browned. Let cool on a wire rack. Leave the oven on.For the filling, whisk together the eggs, sugar, lemon zest, lemon juice, lavender extract and flour. Pour over the crust and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, until the filling is set. Let cool to room temperature.Cut into triangles and dust with confectioners’ sugar.


Yields 24 triangles (or squares)

1 can (12 fluid ounces) 


Nestlé Carnation Evaporated Milk, divided


1 tablespoon butter


1 prepared 9-inch (6 ounces) chocolate crumb crust


1 pkg. (3.4 ounces) vanilla instant pudding and pie filling mix


1/3 cup water


1 teaspoon peppermint extract


3 to 4 drops green food coloring (optional)


1 container (8 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed, divided


Additional Nestlé Toll House Semi-Sweet Chocolate Mini Morsels, fresh mint sprigs (optional)

Preparation


MICROWAVE 1 cup morsels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk in medium, uncovered, microwave-safe bowl on HIGH (100%) power for 45 seconds; stir until smooth. Stir in butter; pour into crust. Refrigerate for 20 minutes or until cool to the touch.


MEANWHILE, BEAT remaining evaporated milk, pudding mix, water, peppermint extract and 3 drops food coloring in medium bowl until combined. Gently stir in 2 cups whipped topping and additional drop of food coloring, if desired. Spoon over chocolate layer.


REFRIGERATE for 2 hours or until set. Sprinkle with additional morsels. Spoon remaining whipped topping in center of pie. Garnish with fresh mint.



Makes 8 servings

Oatmeal Cranberry Applesauce Muffins:

Ingredients1 1/4 cups whole wheat flour

1 1/4 cups oats

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1 cup unsweetened applesauce

1/2 cup low-fat buttermilk

1/2 cup brown sugar

2 tablespoons canola oil

1 large egg

3/4 cup dried cranberries

1/2 cup cranberry sauceDirections• Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

• In a large bowl, combine flour, oats, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.

• In a medium bowl combine applesauce, buttermilk, sugar, oil, and egg. Make a well in dry ingredients and add in applesauce mixture and dried cranberries. 

• Stir until moist 

• Fill muffin cups 2/3 of the way full, adding a tsp of cranberry sauce in the middle of each cup.

Here’s a yummy iced coffee to get you started! ‘Cheaters’ Iced Cappuccino 

Ingredients

•2 teaspoons instant coffee granules

•1 teaspoon sugar

•3 tablespoons warm water

•6 fluid ounces cold milk

Directions

1) In sealable jar, combine instant coffee, sugar and warm water. Cover the jar and shake until it is foamy. Pour into a glass full of ice. Fill the glass with milk. Adjust to taste if necessary.

This delicious concoction is wonderful for those summer parties and ladies luncheons! Here’s the recipe!



Prep Time: 10 Minutes Cook Time: 25 Minutes Difficulty: Easy Servings:12

Ingredients


1 loaf French Bread

6 ounces, weight Pimiento-stuffed Green Olives

6 ounces, weight Black Olives

2 stalks Green Onions (scallions)

1 stick Butter, Room Temperature

1/2 cup Mayonnaise

3/4 pounds Monterey Jack Cheese, Grated

Preparation Instructions


•Roughly chop both black olives and pimiento-stuffed green olives. 

•Slice green onions into thin pieces.

•Combine butter, mayonnaise, cheese, olives and green onions in a mixing bowl. Stir together until thoroughly combined. 

•Spread mixture onto French bread that has been sliced lengthwise. 

•Bake at 325ºF for 25 to 30 minutes or until cheese is melted and browning.

Note: Mixture can also be refrigerated (up to two days) and used as a dip. Great with crackers!

Try not to eat it before you get it onto the bread!
